We are Banana Phonetic, we write music for the love of sound. The group-mentality is what keeps us interested in collaboration and this group stands to be an ever-evolving image of our shared vision. Beginning in the summer of 2008, we decided to hole up for days at a time and develop random song ideas to explore the depth of what our eclectic influences could do for songwriting and improvisation both. We love The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Built to Spill, The Slip, My Morning Jacket and Deerhunter, to name a few and we hope that equal tribute and originality show in our stuff. Banana Phonetic is the result of our ongoing sessions. It’s a musical persona that is equally shared among its members and fully immersed in what comes out of the moment. We believe music is a near-perfect metaphor for what can’t be said with words alone. As we have created and recorded music, we have made it available to anyone interested… and we’ll keep doing it as long as we can. Please listen to our sounds or come to our show if you’re in the Boston Area, we’d love to connect. Once again, thank you and we love you all! – Banana Phonetic
